Welcome to the RSPCA Animal Home Burton-on-Trent Branch

Your animal centre in Stretton is a vital hub for animal welfare, caring for and rehoming abandoned and unwanted animals from across Staffordshire.  We support inspectors by taking in cruelty cases, and caring for animals whilst their court cases are pending.  We provide vet care, time and TLC to all our animals, and work hard to find them loving permanent homes.  We do not profit from animal adoptions.

We are responsible for raising money locally to keep the doors to the Animal Centre open, so we rely on donations and volunteers.  Making every penny count in this challenging work means we never compromise on any animals welfare.

We'll never put an animal to sleep unless a vet advises that the animal is suffering unnecessarily, or an animal behaviourist advises that rehoming would put the public at risk, we are animal lovers.

Looking for new homes for our dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and other small animals is a process which involves matching a potential new home to the needs of each animal.  All animals ready for adoption are on this site, it is updated daily, and you can register for notifications to ensure you see new animals as they are added.

Please take a look at the 'Support Us' page to find out how you can help us.  Our running costs are high and although affiliated to the national RSPCA, we are not directly funded by them, so we raise our own money to keep the centre open for over 90% of the year.

We are a separately registered branch of the RSPCA and primarily responsible for raising funds locally.

The centre is open 1 - 4pm every day (except Tuesdays) when we'd love to you to visit us to meet a potential new pet.

We have an on site charity shop, the 'Cabin', which sells clothing etc and donated animal accessories, as well as a charity shop at High Street, Swadlincote which is open 9 - 5pm Monday - Saturday.  Donations can be left at either shop at any time of the week, thank you.
